Alan Jacobsen

It is with great sadness that we share with you the news that Alan Jacobsen, the founder of the Nepal Trust, passed away peacefully on Friday evening, 5th December, aged 86.

  Alan during WWII

A Scottish businessman and ex British-Indian Army Major, Alan gave years of energy and dedication to forming and supporting the Nepal Trust as a way of giving something back to the country which was the home of the Gurkhas who had served alongside him in WWII.

Alan was still taking an active interest in the work of the Trust and news of the projects and people of Humla played an important part in his life. Alan was a lively character who was determined that the work of the Nepal Trust must continue in its efforts to improve the lives of people in Humla. We are all thinking of Alan and his family, and send our love and thanks to Alan for being who he was, and for his inspiration to bring about a change to so many people's lives through the work of the Nepal Trust.
